The New Hampshire Bead Bop Challenge is under way. The theme for this year's event is "Spring in New Hampshire" and there are seven categories: Stringing, earrings, bead weaving, wire/metal work, silver metal clay, polymer clay and multimedia. There are three levels to enter under: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Below are 2 items I entered for fun.
Entries will be judged by an expert in each category and a shop owner. The winning pieces will be displayed between May 18 and Oct. 4 at each of the 7 participating bead shops. Visit www.nhbeadbop.com for information on the "passport" to see the winners at each shop.
Going Green
A simple fun piece creates today's theme of "going Green". Varied textures of green glass on wire with beads and nature accent pieces.
Horse Love
A discarded horse bola and onyx cuff links found at a recycle center reminded me of someone's love for horses. I wondered why someone would just toss these memories.
This inspired theme around horses creates a way to preserve and display family memories. Brown and black glass on wire with beads and keepsakes.
